Vice President of Corporate Development for Adventus, Dr Franz has more than 30 years experience in the optometric and ophthalmic industries. From 1981 to 1987 Dr Franz was a Director at Bausch & Lomb Inc in Professional Services, Clinical and Ocular Research, and ultimately Director of Marketing, International Division. From 1987 to 1990 he was Director of Marketing for Contact Lenses at Allergan Inc..
In 1990, Dr Franz became Head of Global Clinical Affairs and Professional Services at CIBA Vision (a division of Novartis). In 1995, he founded the Worthington Group in Georgia, a business management consulting firm for optometrists and ophthalmologists. From 1997 to 1998, Dr Franz was Vice-President of Marketing & Technology at American Consolidated Laboratories Inc., a specialty contact lens laboratory.
He was Vice-President, Professional Relations at Ocular Sciences Inc. from 1998 to 2005. Dr Franz has a Doctor of Optometry and a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science from Illinois College of Optometry, a Major in Physiological Optics from Ohio State University and a Certificate in Therapeutic Pharmaceuticals from University of Houston College of Optometry.
