Dr Andersohn is Program Director for Ophthalmic Equipment at Adventus Technology. He received his doctorate in physics from the University of Hannover, Germany in 1994, specializing in research on semiconductor surfaces using Scanning Tunneling Microscopy.
Dr Andersohn has over 15 years experience in product development in the medical device, semiconductor capital equipment and scientific instrumentation industries, with in-depth skills in software and systems engineering. At Bausch & Lomb from 2006 to 2010 Dr Andersohn led the development department responsible for ophthalmic surgery equipment, launching the "Stellaris® Vision Enhancement System" for cataract surgery in 2007, followed by a major performance improvement in 2009.
At Nellcor (a business unit of Covidien, formerly Tyco Healthcare) Dr Andersohn led the product development department for Nellcor's line of Pulse Oximetry devices. From 1998 to 2003 he was a software engineer, software manager, project manager and director at KLA-Tencor and, prior to that, a software engineer with TopoMetrix (later ThermoMicroscopes and then Veeco) from 1995 to 1998.
