Pravin Krishnan
MS (Senior Ophthalmologist)
In 2003 Dr Krishna received a fellowship at the L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India, and subsequently joined the Institute. He received the Young Investigator Award for outstanding research in clinical ophthalmology for 2005 at the second Singapore Eye Research Institute – Association for Research in Vision Ophthalmology (SERI – ARVO) meeting in Singapore. Dr Krishman received the ‘Best Paper in Cornea’ award at the All India Ophthalmological Society annual meeting in 2006.
He is reviewer for Investigative Ophthalmology & Vision Research, Archives of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology, Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, and the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology. Dr Krishnan has devised innovative modifications in deep lamellar and penetrating keratoplasty and is involved in research projects in contact lens and refractive surgery. His areas of interest include corneal surgery, cataract and refractive surgery, contact lenses, pediatric cornea and corneal diagnostics. Dr Krishnan serves as faculty for training programs and has published papers and presented posters at international and national forums. Dr Krishna completed his basic medical education at Bangalore Medical College, and his internship at Victoria Hospitals, Bowring & Lady Curzon Hospital, Bangalore, India. Dr Krishna completed an MS in ophthalmology from Guntur Medical College in Andhra Pradesh.
